Carrick, Bannockburn Pinot Noir, 2013

26.49

From Carrick’s main vineyard in Bannockburn planted in 1974 and certified as organic by BioGroNZ.
Steve Green, with the help of viticulturist Blair Deaker and winemaker Jane Docherty (ex Felton Road), has transformed Carrick into one of the most dynamic premium wineries in New Zealand’s Central Otago region. This is deep coloured, cool climate Pinot, vinified in small open top fermenters with a 5 -7 day cold soak. The fruit is hand picked and all parcels undergo natural wild yeast ferment prior to 14 months maturation in French oak of which around 30% is new.
This is a great Pinot made in the Burgundian style with a nose reminiscent of Chambolle but with the structure and grip of a Pommard – we think you’ll like it.
