‘Its Faugeres Jim but not as we know it’  Made in the foothills of the Cevennes, on steep schistous slopes overlooking the Beziers plain. Boris Fiegel’s Pres Lasses is a product of careful, sensitive and sustainable vineyard husbandry. Short pruning, ploughed- in organic fertiliser, minimal spraying and a history of winemaking with Humbrecht in the Alsace yields a wine of impeccable structure and quality. This is vibrantly black-fruited Carignan from 30 to 50 year old vines, hugely concentrated and powerful with hints of liquorice and fennel with a long,long, wildly wonderful finish infused with herbal scrubland.
