Made from 100% Teroldego grapes, grown on the Campo Rotaliano plateau, in the shadow of the Dolomites. Sgarzon – from 'scarzo', meaning vine shoot, - is from a 2.5 hectare plot, on sandy soil which gives a cooler and more delicate expression of Teroldego than Foradori's 'Morei', both of which,  spend 8 months on skins in clay amphora before resting in cement prior to bottling. Tell-tale cherry red fruit with squished raspberries, and a heady perfume of crushed rose petals with the underlying wildness of black olives. Indigenous yeasts, hand harvesting, minimal intervention and low sulphur usage, together with certified biodynamic farming gives the wine an earthy, spicy/savoury edginess and grip, that walks a tense tightrope, between the purity of nature, and what we have learned to expect from wine.
