Beaujolais Villages, Louis Tete, 2015

Paul Bocuse called Beaujolais "The greatest of little wines” and I tend to agree. From vin de primeur, through Villages to the nine Crus, they all have the kind of remarkable bugle clear, youthful, zingy freshness that make your taste buds tingle the moment you get that first, big, winey, strawberry jam-like, sniff. With low phenolics  - the astringent tannins or extract normally associated with red wines are absent - naturally high acidity, low alcohol of 11- 12% and extraordinary glugability, you can drink it till the cows come home or the cows can drink it till you come home.
