A true ‘vin de table’ vitally volatile and dancing to nature’s happy tune. You can smell the air, the soil, the climate, and the very skins of the grapes, beneath the funky, initial, mulchy, fungal aromas. This is a wine with real ‘joie de vivre’ nothing added or taken away, free of enzymes, artificial yeasts and sulphur and the vineyards are ploughed by a horse named Joker. It’s a tad cloudy, a bit mushroomy on the nose - at first sniff - but when that fades there is an explosion of crushed strawberry and apple core singing in the glass. It slips down like a sort of alcoholic cranberry juice – without the sugar – and its sheer audacious purity means that the only after effect is a big broad smile.
