The organically farmed, high altitude, vineyards of Heredad Maybri in Murcia, between Alicante and Cartagena, are planted with Bobal, Monastrell and Garnacha Tinta vines between 50 and 80 years of age. Bobal is a dark skinned, relatively obscure, native grape of Utiel Requena giving reds that are deep and chocolaty with dried berry fruit and a judicious whack of smoke and alcohol. It’s a heady mixture and if you like Mourvedre, Malbec, or Madiran, you’re going to love this!
