Meaning ‘On a Cloud’ this is literally 'out there' and truly bybo-esque. It’s a natural wine, and a trifle cloudy – it’s non filtered and has no sulphur – but don’t be afeared! It hails from a tiny domaine (organic since its creation in 2007) situated at the foot of the Albères massif in the south of the Pyrenées-Orientales near Perpignan. ‘Sur Un Nuage’ is 90% Grenache and 10% Carignan from 50 year old vines grown on some really gnarly granite soils worked by horse. It’s an artisan wine, aged in old Burgundy barrels but don’t expect a robust Rhone-like wine cos it’s frisky ‘n’ bosky, with juicy, crushed raspberries (from partial whole bunch fermentation), and the kind of artful tartness that makes you salivate. Scrumdiddlyumptious!
