Corbieres 'La Selection' Ch du Vieux Parc,

14.99

Château du Vieux Parc between Carcassonne and Narbonne is a two hundred year old estate on the terroir of Lezignan, in the small village of Conilhac Corbières, composed of clay and limestone soils on stony, south-facing terraces and planted with the traditional varieties of Carignan, Syrah, Grenache and Mourvedre.

The average vine age is around 40 years old with some of the Carignan nearer 80. There is some whole bunch fermentation on the Carignan so that the wine is less tough than traditional Corbieres. Rich and deep with a spicy pepper nose over plums and black olives some fine grained tannin and vanilla oak.
