Pronounced with a hard ‘g’ FalanGeena is the coming the thing – or should be – if you can find it. Its perfect on its own, so drop that glass of Pinot Grigio this instant, but has the kind of delicate just cut lime aromas so typical of the grape. That limey, citrus bite compliments any fish dish, but its medium body, flinty minerality and scrumptious honey and almond aftertaste really come to the fore with the Calabrian antipasti Caponata, an oil rich aubergine and olive salad.
