Apples and quince flavours, dry soft and supple on the palate with the searingly fresh acidity of Chenin Blanc. I love a great big glass of dry Vouvray with some simply cooked trout, falling off the fork. 
Four generations of the Gaudron family have been making wine in Vernou since the 1890’s farming 27-hectares, two-thirds of whose vines have an average age of 30 years.
The cellars date back to the 13th century, with 1km of galleries burrowed deep into the rock where some cuvees spend several months in oak acquiring additional complexity and character.
