If ever a wine was guaranteed to turn lovers of Pinot Noir onto Nebbiolo then this is it..

The best examples come from Castiglione Falletto, Monforte and Serralunga d’Alba. These areas show better acidity (vital in a warm vintage) due to cooler vineyard sites and a higher proportion of hard limestone in the soils.
Tightly tannic and firm in structure, but with the violet, rose scented perfume and raspberry, sour red cherry fruitiness of classic Nebbiolo. Complex, floral, and exotically spicy with a kind of feral meatiness, underneath the fine grained tannins, coupled with amazing freshness and a fine acid balance to finish.
If you’re new to Barolo, this is a great place to start.
