The ‘G’ stands for Garnacha, which in this form, pale, fresh and mineral, is Spain’s greatest red grape and bears a striking resemblance to Pinot Noir. Fernando Garcia is quoted as saying: “We have a certain weakness for Burgundy Pinot Noir and we are convinced that our Garnachas can produce equally elegant wines as long as you look after the grapes and harvest early”. One taste of this superb red, shows that he doesn’t have a Trumpian idea of the truth. It’s not cheap, but you’d have a bigger hole in your wallet if it was Burgundy!
