Unless you have been to Liguria, on the Italian Riviera, it is unlikely that you have sampled its wines. Mostly white - the climate is not reliable enough for reds - they are exceptionally wonderful, and Pigato is bybo's favourite grape of the moment. Shiny yellow in colour with flashes of green, incredibly fresh with a scent and taste of roasted almonds. A superior relative of Vermentino, it goes well with the local fish soup called Ciuppin.
