Traslanzas lies in the municipal district of Mucientes - within the Cigales DO – and was originally planted with Tinto del País (Tempranillo) in 1945. It’s vibrant cherry-red in colour with a darker damsonesque core and a complex, yet elegant, aroma of violets, lavender and loganberry with some deeper, sturdier hints of blacker fruit with liquorice, toasty oak, cedar, cloves and vanilla. In the mouth, it’s chunky - as well as funky – with noticeable body, sweet (ish) tannins and a super long, delightfully aromatic finish. Yumsky-Korsakov!
